Position: Project Manager, Digital Media Group
Reports to: Director, On-Line Production
BASIC PURPOSE:
The Project Manager supports Digital Media Group by managing the
implementation of multiple and high impact projects by collaborating with
internal, external and cross functional teams. This position reports into
the Director, On-Line Production but is ultimately responsible for the
production of complex web-related projects from scoping to post launch
support.
PPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Leadership
· Interprets stakeholder business objectives into project requirements for
scoping.
· Proactively coordinate the work of technical development, design, content
and internal stakeholders.
· Provides direction, advice, guidance, and support to cross-functional
teams, thereby minimizing risks and maximizing quality, budget and
resources.
· Creates and manages the project schedule, and orchestrate status and
issues reporting with client and internal teams throughout the complete
project lifecycle.
· Proactively anticipates problems and develops contingency plans throughout
project lifecycle.
· Champions site revenue opportunities and technical innovation.
· Identifies, manages and resolves client issues and provides ongoing
communication to project stakeholders.
Business Development
· Participates in business development activities, facilitating proposal
creation, project planning and estimation.
· Analyzes site performance and capacity requirements to ensure flawless
delivery.
· Reports on project performance to team and management on a regular basis.
· Supports site producers to maintain client relationships, managing
expectations and ensuring satisfaction.
· Conducts post-project analyses to determine project successes and learn
lessons,
· Any other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Project Managers will have held positions with similar responsibilities and
will have at least 4 years of experience in the following areas:
· Project management
· Web related consulting and / or interactive agency or corporate web
development
· Client relationship management
· Previous experience managing multiple projects concurrently with teams of
10 contributing members (or more).
· Previous experience on a wide variety of web projects with dynamic content
and high traffic.
· Solid experience testing web functionality, developing test plans and
utilizing bug tracking process.
Project Managers will also possess the following attributes:
· Bachelor's degree in business or computer science or equivalent experience
· Excellent problem-solving, team-building, leadership and communications
skills
· Ability to manage aggressive projects utilizing realistic timelines and
expectations while remaining focused on both client and technical resource
satisfaction.
· Excellent knowledge of interactive technologies
· Proficient in software tools including MS Project, Visio, MS Office, etc.
· Exposure to Web Standards, Red Dot CMS, XHTML, AJAX, Flash, .Net., Web
Services
· An excellent sense of humour.
